Starstruck
Starstruck is a conceptualized bar for the millennial/generation-Z cusp who is looking for a custom tailored drinking experience. Featuring zodiac sign themed cocktails, conversation starters at each bar table, and rotating seasonal specials, visitors of this space can get a drink and get to know each other a little bit better.
LOGO DEVELOPMENT
Name first, then logo.
I came up with the name Starstruck to reiterate the astrology theme and to create impact upon first glance by giving a glimpse into the experience the bar provides.
Iteration, iteration, iteration.
I iterate as much as possible to explore avenues that work and don’t until I find the correct solution, which was a hand-drawn illustration style with thin serif text.
BRANDING & STYLE-BOARD
APPLICATION: Conversation Cards
Start a conversation.
These cards are placed in the center of the table in order to encourage bar-goers to engage in conversation, learn about each other as individual with astrology as a vehicle.
Types of Cards
There are fact cards, which feature astrology facts such as information about the elemental sign or a specific zodiac sign.
There are activity cards which instruct users to interact with one another in relation to the content on each card.
APPLICATION: Zodiac Sign Keys
Clarity for the User
These keys come as both a topper for each table, as well as in the pack of zodiac key cards. The key is to be used for users to figure out how to use the conversation cards and what specialty cocktail they should order from the menu.
Icons for Comprehension
I created an icon set in the same hand-drawn, personal style as a way to make conversation more fluid for those who do now know their zodiac, let alone their element sign.
APPLICATION: Bar Collateral
Specialty Cocktail Menu
Along with traditional bar items like a wine and beer list, I created a specialty cocktail menu items with ingredients and combinations based on the 12 zodiac signs.
